How to get discovered?

Get help using Construct 2

Ok, I've been making games on C2 for more than 2 years and till now no one know my games expect for my family and friends. I want to gain some fans and get discovered. I made those so I can get discovered:

Facebook Fan page: Fan page
So is that cabale to make me discovered or it need something else?

That's a good start. Basically, you need to make a good game and get other people to play your game. Players will promote the game for you by ratings, reviews, facebook likes, etc.

Oh, and you need luck.

Get to know people , try ludumdare and other game development competitions or social networks like Tigsource and indiegames.com , basically , get social (Twitter , Facebook ) and make great games

Note ; On the first view , your games look like kids-oriented minigames, those graphics look like they were drawn by a 10-years old , and none of the games had an interesting premise ;

@Whiteclaws , Do you advice to stop making games. I like to make and I have been using C2 for more than a year and a half. So what do you advice me?

Naji two quick tips if you don't mind.

1) Spellcheck always spellcheck thoroughly, first thing I saw was the "quite" village I'm sure you know about it but nothing is more off putting to me anyway.
2) Get into the habit of using Spritefonts and your games will look much, much "Gamier"

And 3 Take all criticism on board, don't be disheartened learn from it.

@Naji , practice makes perfect , you won't become better by abandoning , have a look at many indie games

Towerclimb ( This is a gem in the darkness of earth , not much was done to promote the game )
Meatboy ( Had a lot of hype from Meat boy Flash)
Escape Goat 2 ( Lots a hype from the first )
Home Alone ( Game that did a decent effort at promoting itself)
Fez ( Controversial game that sold a sh*ton , Fez 2 had so much hype , dayum )
Etc.

Those actually take more than 5 minutes to complete and have more than C2-Editor Mouse-Drawn Graphics (yours actually don't look that bad , but still , they are not appealing , they lack much of realism like shading , hue shifting and such ) , etc. , or if you can't draw , collab with some peeps to maek gaemsWhiteclaws2014-02-09 16:41:57

@Naji, creating the website and fan page is a great start! Though, just creating the pages won't get you far. You will have to share links to your site and games on many different places. Now you are starting to discover why there are jobs devoted to only marketing things. It can be tough and take a lot of time. But, I think you have a great foundation to start from.

To get fans, you need interesting content and you need to get your content in front of more people. Also, I would suggest putting links in your apps for "Rate me", "Share", "Like us on Facebook", and such.

Different people have different tastes. So, one idea in marketing is to discover who are the people that would be most interested in your games, then try to get their attention. Worry less (or not at all) about the people who wouldn't be interested. Ex: I recently created a memory match game to match uppercase and lowercase letters. My marketing/advertising strategy is to put my time into promoting the app to the target audience that I think will have the highest percentage of people most interested in the game, i.e. parents of young children. ;)


Short notes:
- Your icon, title, and description are VERY important in getting interest in the game, in that order. A bad icon means many people may not even read the title, look at the screenshots, or try the game.
- Better graphics typically helps. So, you may want to invest more time in a graphics program or look for designers.
- You can cross-promote your apps (basically, ads in game pointing to your other games).
- Remember that feedback from family and friends is usually highly biased. You may be able to limit this a little bit by asking them not to hold back anything.

ps - If you want advice, then my advice is to always be learning and doing what you like to do. You can make a living doing anything, if you get sufficiently good enough at it. So, that's why I say always be learning and don't just make games that you know how to make. ;)
