How to make a professional trampoline?

Hello everyone,
i make to time a game where the Player must place blocks to come threw the 2d jump and run. There are many different kinds of boxes. Now my Problem: There is a Trampoline box. When the Player jumps on it, he will bounced up and and if jumps often he will bounced higher and higher. I already programmed a Trampoline worked with the control jump, the jump strengh and an instance variable. But the Player was to fast. It didnt look nice so i searched for a thread. But everyone there used the same commands. So my question is: Is there a more professional way to Programm this.
