How to search for single Speech Quote in a string?

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Feb 03, 2014 10:27 am

Hi everyone. I'm working with some text parsing currently.

Any ideas how I can search for a single speech quote like this >> " << ??

C2 obviously can't search for this as it thinks I mean a string.. and says string missing finishing " doh!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Ok, literally just found a work around. Not the best way round it, but a way round.

Add a text object with the text value as "
Then compare with text.text and voila.

Ok so since determined this doesn't work as its still not comparing to the single quote. I can search for any other value i.e. , . etc just not the "

This topic is about showing quotationmarks in a string.

I'm not sure it will help you, but I'm not sure what you are trying to do except finding " in a string.
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..
