HTML5 Only?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Mon Feb 27, 2012 11:49 am

So sorry if this is in the wrong place. My question is this. I know that classic will export as exe. Is construct 2 HTML5 only or can it be exported as an exe? I am not looking to make a browser game. I want a game that is installed to the system and not played through a browser is that possible with construct 2?

We're HTML5 only for the time being. However HTML5 games are slowly becoming more like EXE games. You can run HTML5 games from the desktop with Chrome, Mozilla are working on a similar solution, and of course Windows 8 can run HTML5 apps from the desktop.

Yeah I was aware you could run the games offline and use that to update. I stayed away from using flash which i am proficient in for the same reasons though. I want a game that does not rely on a browser or the flash player to run.

I wouldn't mind seeing a way to export games as exe in C2 or see classic brought up to date with a payed version similar to C2 but without HTML5 options and dx11! just sayin. Would seem like a great addition to the lineup anyhow.

@dhaifyy - maybe upload it to the web (e.g. Dropbox) and when you present make sure you have an internet connection and load it off the web.
