HTML5 Screen recorder

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Hello, all!

I have not really seen a definitive answer on this, so what do you use to record your HTML5 games (in-browser)?

The software should have a good free trial, or not be too expensive (I don't like the fact that Camtasia only has a 30-day free trial, and costs $299).

Any software you use?

Fraps is definitely the best, i tried almost everything, and the results with fraps are amazing when you put side by side with other software.

I'd give fraps a shot, you can get a free version which has no lifespan, just some limitations. If the free version works, then the paid version, which is $37 with free updates, should work.

I have the paid version, and honestly I've had issues recently, so I find it difficult to recommend, but can't hurt to try it out yourself. In the past I always had great performance out of it, even in graphically intensive online environments. In fact, as recently as the D3 release, fraps was fine for me. Just now I don't know what is going on.teahousemoon2012-09-27 03:58:52

For my recent video tutorials, I've been using Debut Video Capture Software by NHCSoftware.
The price is far cheaper than camtasia's and the end result and ease of capture is pretty good.
On a recent/decent computer it seems to be capturing pretty good at decent frame rate/image quality.

@sqiddster you have to enable the "aero theme" in windows, or even better you can export your game to an .exe and then fraps will capture only the game window with a brutal resolution instead of your whole desktop. You can lock the frame rate in fraps, which is an amazing option for gaming videos, and the price is good compared to camtasia.

@NotionGames @Animate, did you guys pay $299 for Comtasia? That seems very steed to me.

@Kyatric I will look into that, it looks good. Thanks.

A free alternative is MSI Afterburner.
