Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Wed Jan 20, 2016 11:18 am

Hi
can someone tell me please. If I can test my project, ie preview it in my chrome browser and it all works ok; why is it that when I upload it to google drive, or dropbox I get the screen that html 5 is not supported by my browser. I even downloaded something extra that said it enabled html for the browser but it made no difference.

You can get such a message when javascript is disabled, usually by a browser addon. Try disabling addons.

If possible, post a link here to the exported game and we can test it for you also. If it works, then it is a possibility that something on your computer / browser is blocking scripts.

Your link is wrong. It wants me to download it locally rather than run it.

Is it in the Public folder?

For instance, here is one of my links:

yeah mine is in the public folder the link was for the html file. However, the icon for the HTML file is not the same as usual it is looking like a page with a squiggle on it.

It's my understanding that, in order to host an HTML5 game on Dropbox, you need access to Public Folders. As of 2012 this feature is no longer available unless you pay for a Dropbox account. (I think anyone who started using Dropbox before 2012 will still have access.)

Just FYI.

Not sure.

Is it possible to provide the link to the index.html?

ok I confess: for google drive, I was not looking at the right tutorial and I was not sharing properly. So my bad, as they say. I was not ammending the URL properly to share the folder, now it works on google drive.
