Looks like they are using phone gap and kendo ui to do things. But I agree that cocoon looks best so far.

What I read about AppGyver is that they are taking HTML5 apps closer to native feel. I don't know about the performance, but this is a solution to keep an eye on.

Most of these products are the same. They have templates to run a native browser control and then display local files with some custom CSS.

My problem with most of these is that they are all focused on the look and feel of the platform and how buttons display etc.

What we are looking for are companies that focus on improving GPU integration and canvas performance tuning.

So much wrappers/adapters like these only indicate that HTML5 is failling hard on mobile, specially for games. I can't see it any other way. Kiyoshi2012-08-03 20:35:51

But its getting better:

I think theres a lot of reasons to be optmistic: Chrome is now the default browser with Android 4.1, the new mobile safari seens to be fast as hell and with the Nexus 7 I think there will be a lot of new devices with fast processors in the low budget market.

HTML5 as a gaming platform has so much potential I'd hate to see it go to waste because giants like apple make decisions which hinder it's movement..
