Increase the speed of a falling object

I have some platforms that fall once you stand on them and I was wondering how they would fall faster as they continually fall?

Here is the capx:

Use an instance variable to store their speed, every tick, add a fixed value to that speed (acceleration). Then move the platforms according to their current speed.

Or use the custom movement behavior, it can do exactly what you want rather easily.

Give the platform the Bullet behviour with gravity set to on. When the platform needs to drop turn on the behaviour. If you need a way to continue to increase the rate of fall

set bullet speed = object.bullet.speed + acceleration

jayderyu- your method was easier, but cancelled out my physics of the object.

Magistross - I didn't understand what to do with the custom behavior so I tried your other method and it seems that's the approach I need to take with this. It id faster, but I'm not sure I can understand exactly what you are telling me to do just by reading your last post. From what I have done it has made progress, but not there yet. Can you perhaps put it into the simplest forms or edit my capx for me so I can understand what you are telling me to do?

Thanks to both of you
