I have an object with multiple animations. Is there a way to go to the next animation without knowing which animation I am on and without stating the name of the animation?

If you have them named such as anim1, anim2, anim3 etc, then you could retrieve the current animation, remove the last digit, increment (or loop to first if at end), then re-add to end of animation name. Not pretty, but should work.
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.
