Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Fri Jun 07, 2013 3:59 pm

Hello,

Iam little confused about Construct 2 and need little help. It looks good but it sometimes not work correctly. Two same projects, without events, just one object (sprite) placed in middle of screen. One project show it, another one not! Lots fo crashes and forum full of peoples calling for help. I even not find email of Scirra and I think good company should have email on they webpages.

Is NEW Gamemaker better? This not looks like PRO app.

Thanks for advices

It's great engine for what is meant for. You could share those two project files and we could see what is wrong with them. :)

There is contact section on the site: https://www.scirra.com/contact

I find these type of questions utterly pointless, due to the subjective nature of the responses.

A proper evaluation would require installing any free version of the software you are interested in, and comparing the results for yourself. Anything else is just someone's opinion.

BTW crashes are nearly always caused by buggy or old display drivers.
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.

Isnt that one of the reasons forum exists? to ask, share, and help? So many friendly users here that help me most of the time even for an extremely simple question or problem . as for the crashes, do you really mean as crashes or you mean problems or difficulties?

In the end, zenox98's advice is the best solution

Try updating your graphics card drivers. Bad drivers are the #1 cause of crashes in Construct 2.

Thousands of people use Construct 2 and as far as we are aware it's generally robust and reliable for the vast majority.

Dubious.

Just joined to post this, named Unknown, saying try the competitor?

Sorry Unk, if you are real, Construct2 has gamemaker scrambling to redesign, If you already have gamemaker, be happy they are improving.Paradox2013-06-07 20:45:22

I've had a few crashes (clicking back on C2 from a preview Chrome window) with the free version through Steam but I was sufficiently impressed to buy it anyway. Just in case I went with the non-Steam version and haven't had a crash since.

I'm still in the "testing what I can do" phase but I'm finding it pretty easy to implement everything I've thought of so far.
I quite liked GM but they're different approaches and honestly, I don't think it's in the same league as far as productivity goes.Zantium2013-06-08 11:36:08
