@Raicuparta
I'm wondering if you could give insight on how you used the list of English words
rather than creating your own

Can't remember right now where I got the name list from (which is stupid, shouldn't use it without crediting the original source, but I'm not planning on using this particular list on the final version anyway), but it was basically a big plain text list with each name on a separate line. What I did was take that list, use Notepad++ tools to transform the file into an xml like this:
<words>
     <value>"word1"</value>
     <value>"word2"</value>
     <value>"word3"</value>
</words>
So I really just used the list I could find in the most convenient format.
In Construct2 I just import the XML file, count how many words are there and choose a a random "value".

Now I'm a complete beginner in Construct 2 and only recently started programming, and I'm still having issues with this, so you can bet there are probably better ways to do this.

@Raicuparta
thanks that's great
really easy to use to create my own list
have loads so I'm not worried about the recurrence of words - as of yet

if you find easier/better way please let me know
I'd appreciate it

@Raicuparta
Kind of wheel of fortune jeopardy cross
just idea stage but trying to think of game mechanics over in head
and couldn't find a viable way to do the lists (separated by topic)
was thinking Dictionary but xml looks even easier - because then do in notepad outside of C2 and event sheet

just tip if replying to particular person put @ that way notifies me that was mentioned :)

My typing speed is 44, but i am trying to improve my skills using online tutorials

Here's a short list of sites that I liked best:
http://www.ratatype.com/,

http://www.typingweb.com/

http://www.rapidtyping.com/typing-tutor.html

And what sites do you use to speed up typing skills?AdamFort2013-08-20 09:40:36

As a french guy, playing with exotic english words can be quite difficult indeed :lol:
It would be awesome to add a difficulty selector, with a different list for each level.
Anyway, it's a nice first game, keep going ! ;)
