Light and shadow effects in construct2

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Sat Jul 07, 2012 9:41 pm

Hello everyone,
I'm working currently on a little project where I need to integrate an effect of light and shadow, is there a way to do it in Construct2 ?
I want the objects that have the attribute "solid" to block the light.
Something like this

Thanks for the help

clone sprite, adjust size and position relative to light source and origin, use filter to make it black enough, ..., profit!

@Nanook, the official "light and shadow" for C2 is on the todo list.

What @Goury said is clone and deform the cloned object to appear like a shadow. But it'll be insanely hard for you, so, it's better to wait for Ashley make it officialy for C2 or use a plugin (what will make your game unplayable on the Arcade)

@7Soul

Dont worry, the r100 of Construct 2 is going out really soon, and it counts with WebGL Shaders.

So I mean r100 contains Shadows shader.

r100 doesn't contain a shadow effect, or at least won't at launch.

This effect was in Classic and it's possible in the WebGL renderer, but it's more difficult in the canvas 2D renderer... I'm not sure if it will be possible in canvas 2D, and if not, we might hold off implementing it.
