Simply change the filter, make the sprite a color, focus the angle a bit and manage the timings. I think it would work just fine.

Same technique, minor tweaks. I'm sure it could be further optimized. Still runs well on my p.o.s.

EDIT: Removed edit for stupidity.
EDIT EDIT: If you used this in smaller doses, like on the end of a sprite that looks like a torch, it makes for a great fire effect. I can think of other uses too.. Perhaps particle effects after some magical attack thingie collides?

Not really a new or impressive use of the filters IMO, but gets the job done.

I stopped just short of adding a lens layer on top of the flame to simulate heat distortion.

Yeah, i know it's not an amazing effect, but i havent seen it done in this way before. With this system it's easy to change the texture of the flame, the colors of the flame etc. And it doesn't use pixel shaders! And it isn't possible to use practicaly YAAY.... eh..

Okay, so if I post a pong game and it absolutely sucks, I guess I would get props since it's the first one in Construct...

This concept is years old and I get tired of seeing it to be honest :?

There were so many with MMF2's release I almost went insane ... almost.
