i downloaded a couple proggs that do this but dont have links i know gimp/ps have plugin. i scooped them up and didnt have time to look at them yet. i dont have links sorry, but ill update when i do. i posted b4 i forgot because im sure some would be interested in it. just search this thread title or seem carving. videos can be found here http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=c ... en&tab=wv#

Ah yeah, the Photoshop CS4 has this natively, called Content Aware Scaling. Sometimes it works really well, sometimes not so much, it really depends on the original image.

For a tools/resources forum, not posting the tool/resource just seems..... odd.

Now, about this tool: I was aware of Seam Carving as a technique and a prototype and its later implementation in Photoshop CS4, but not the Gimp plugin. Which again shows why you have to post links to what you're posting about.
Photoshop's implementation lacks some of the stuff that makes the seam carving really useful, such as marking zones that shouldn't be touched or marking zones for inmediate carving.
Also it only has one algorithm for finding the seams. It's there but rather limited. I'll take a look at the GIMP plugin now.

i get what you are saying, however that doesnt make sense. note that i said "search the title", i did that and the gimp plugin was the 2nd link. and there are more,

anyway i dl this program called vso image carving or something i think it does stuff, but havent had time to use yet.
