looping plane option for tiled background

New releases and general discussions.

In the game I'm making you start out with the main terrain layer zoomed all the way, and the player being able to move, so I have a tiled background and to cover the required area I made the dimensions massive, but eventually the player will find the land's end.

Is it possible to add a texture plane option to them so they go on forever?

You could try scrolling the background tile with a "Set Image Offset" action.

You could probably hack it by moving the tiled background.

If there was a way to really make it go forever, then you zoom out really far... erk... what then?

Can't David's offset shader also do this?

I don't think you need a shader for this. If it's a power-of-two texture, you can use the power-of-two texture offsetting actions.

Just saying, if it isn't, or you want it on another object, that's the way to go.
