Make my sprite walk

Get help using Construct 2

Hi

Everyone

I'm very new to this But I catch on quick I'm having a problem with my construct 2 I currently have the Free edition and plan on buying the full but just wanted to test it first because I will be doing a lot of work with this, but here is my problem I can make my sprite walk I'm downloaded a sprite sheet broke the images up frame by frame and added 3 animations idle walk and jump then added the platform behavior but every time I test it out my sprite just slides across the screen like a stiff board if you can please help my the would mean so much thank you

Well Pal, animation is not something C2 does by default. Your Avatar "slides" because you have no code, that controlls your animation.

May I suggest reading this tutorial: Animation

I just checked it right now. There's animation in his game.

The idea is to set each animation to a button press. If you press Right-key, the walk animation plays. But definitely follow Weishaupt's advice and follow that tutorial.

I also have an example, which is really different from Weishaupt's. But I think Weishaupt's is better. I sort of did my example from trial and error. But it kinda works. :)
