Melee Attack Combo and it's Hitboxes

Get help using Construct 2

Hello
I'm making a platform game with a character who defers combo attacks, I'm using variables to define what is the first second and third blow, but I try with this problem.

Anyone have any good example of how I can make it the best way ...

Thank you for your attention ...

I am not certain what is being asked.

Most games handle 'hitboxes' as transparent rectangles in zones around the sprite.

Meaning; collision doesn't take place on the actual sprite.

As for combos,

variable triggers and animations should work. Khaz2012-02-05 05:54:24

Well, I'm sorry ...
I will explain in more detail, below is my file.

I'd like to have some example or any help that can do this as best as possible.

Note: This is just a simplification of the whole game play. I'm showing here only the part concerning melee attacks.

Thank you for listening :)

I've been having this issue as well.
One button... three presses of the button... that creates three different consecutive punch animations in a row.
Seems like a simple thing, but I can't figure out how to do it.
I tried a toggle system... and that sort of worked... but that only showed single frames... not animations.
Any advice about how to build that, would be really great.
I haven't been able to find any tutorials relating to this online.
Even that amazing street fighter tutorial doesn't have combos.
Each button does only one thing.

It shouldn't be that hard..
something like this should work:

On key pressed if animation1 is playing set variable ComboAttack to 2
on animation1 finished if ComboAttack is 2 set animation2 to playing
else set animation to default..
I told my dentist I had trouble with my teeth and asked her to fix it without looking in my mouth..
