MFTB - My First Tank Battle - Updated

Hi guys, I downloaded construct 2 a while ago but only this weekend have really had a proper look at it.

I've hammered out this tank game with my limited knowledge and much help from the forums/tutorial topics.

I would appreciate feedback on how it's been constructed and where I can improve (performance and otherwise)

I did steal wholesale from the "offscreen-enemy-indicators" tutorial to create my (very slightly different) version, but most of the rest I managed to do with reverse engineering from various turotials and examples.

Edit: Controls are: Left click: Fire Cannon. Right click, Fire missiles (when you have them). Arrow keys for movement.


The game has a set number of kills per round, then increases the difficulty level and gives you a chance to repair and upgrade your weapons (limited right now) Only one arena right now unfortunately.

Very good, really like the way the tanks control. Some suggestions though, you could make it team play. So you have tanks on your side as well. Also maybe a secondary gun like a machine gun? Either way I like what you have so far! Well done!

The controls feels nice but they are not tank controls though imo. They are much more arcade feel space vehicle controls. They are good but can't call it a tank.

I'm in a very early stages of making a tank game and mines more realistic I guess but does not feel like that.(Global Tanks 2D, look out for the topic re-appearing in few days and on arcade soon)

Other wise it could be a fun arcade shooter but can't call it a tank though.

Gamefreaks1234: Thankyou! I'll have a poke around and see what I can do!

Dobandon: Thanks for the feedback! I just used tweaked car movement for the player tank. For the Enemy vehicles I couldn't find a way to make them move independently using car movement, so they use a simple scaled back bullet movement, with car layered for collisions. Any suggestions would be welcomed :D

I've updated it with increasing difficulty, repair, and weapon upgrades.

Left click for main cannon, Right click for missiles (if you have them)

Arrow keys for foward/backward and turning.

Hope it's vaguely interesting. Just under 100 events. I think I need to get the full version of C2 :D
