More Layout Transitions

For questions about using Classic.

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2011 10:21 am

Has anyone made more types of layout transitions that I can download as add-ons to Construct?
I'm looking for more transitions other than the 6 main types provided with Construct.

Specifically, I'm looking for a "glass shattering/breaking" layout transition. Does such a thing exist?

Thanks.

From what I hear the built-in transitions are broken. You're better off just making your own with sprite objects or something.

The transitions aren't broken. And the transition files are done with .fx files so creating some of your own would not be a problem.

What are .fx files? How do you create them and import them into Construct?

Go to the addons thread here at the forums where the plugins are.You will see those files marked [EFFECT].If you download one of those plugins then they usually go into your effects folder within construct's folders. You will notice that there's also a folder named transitions,Thats where all the fx files are to create or modify existing transitions. They can be created using your standard notepad app just rename the extension from .txt to .fx

Are all .fx files applicable for both Effects and Transitions?
Is there a tutorial or some documentation where I can learn about .fx files?
Thanks.
