Is there a way to increase the speed for things like the selection box behaviour so that its more accurate? or is it reliant on computer speed

I think you want to decrease the mouse speed in order to get higher accuracy. But eh, I think it is more of a Windows control than anything else.

More FPS = More accuracy, in Unlimited FPS mode its very accurate. Second thing to do you can fool player by making in-game cursor (most games does that).

What's inaccurate about it in the first place?

He means that selection box is little late.

Late when? Late following the mouse or late to appear when you start dragging or what? And accuracy and lateness are different things - the selection box should be perfectly accurate, even if it is delayed slightly.

Smoothness is dependent on FPS. The higher FPS you have, the smoother mouse cursor is. At lower FPS, mouse moves large distances between frames, so it appears to jump. If you move your mouse quickly across the screen, you'll notice that it gets drawn a few times, skipping across gaps.

It's also a matter of the gpu always being 1 frame behind the cpu. Therefore, regardless of what you do, the mouse is always lagging behind by a little bit.

I doubt there's any way to fix that, though it would be nice. There was a thread about it on the indiegamer forums not long ago, tho... http://forums.indiegamer.com/showthread.php?t=17703

yeah it seems all the commercial titles have lag free mouse pointers, but it does seem like it can't be sped up.
