Music VS Sounds

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Tue Apr 30, 2013 6:29 pm

Hey,
I am pretty sure I read somewhere that placing music inside the Sounds folder was a bad idea. Is there any truth to this? If so what were the issues?

I'm having a music issue on my android device and I thought it may be because I placed the .wav in the wrong folder.Tekniko2013-04-30 18:30:25

The manual covers this fully. It's best to read up on the details.
Audio

Read the Audio is downloaded on demand section.

The music Folder is streamed while you play the game
The sound are downloaded and cached

Today, I had some connexion problems, so, I couldn't Appreciate the music, since it was cut on and cut off, but sounds were okay (because cached, noises aren't that big compared to music, so ,it's ok to download them)

Game design is all about decomposing the core of your game so it becomes simple instructions.

Does Google Play Store support this "streaming" of audio files or is it still all packed in an .APK file?Tekniko2013-04-30 21:31:01

Streaming only applies to web platforms (e.g. html5 website, Scirra Arcade, kongregate etc.) Most other platforms bundle everything in the app itself. (If it was on the web, which server would it look on? :P)
