Wanting to do a Shot n Run game easily? Here is your chance!
  • Hi, every body as i promised i am updating my first online game ever built !

I am trying to make a platform game based on my most Favorited anime character Naruto Uzumaki. the game is still under process as i am running unlicensed version soon i am going to buy the license and complete this game any plugins and behavior reference to my game will be a lot helpful from this community.I am not a developer, but love to play and make games, before introducing myself to Constructor 2, I was working with Yo Yo Game Maker, but i guess i have succeeded in Constructor 2 only. So i am in Love with it.

Below is the instructions How controls work

Right Arrow Key - Run right

Left arrow key - Run Left

Shift - Naruto Transform into Saske

    Backspace - Transform back

Press "Z" and release for special attack, "D" to stop this Attack

    Hit spacebar to shoot

Just let me know how I am going !

All images have been collected from web i have no copyright on the once i decided to launch my game i will remove all these sprites and other images.

Just few words from the heart, you guys doing great job by building this software and other members who are contributing tutorials and plugins Hats-off to you all and let them coming.

    Keep up the good work <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle"> <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle"> <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle"> <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle">

  • Some feedback..

I like the way you are going. It seems you got the basics down but i do have some comments that may help.

The character in orange (Naruto) moves differently. The response time before he actually starts walking is too long. The blue character starts walking faster which makes jumping from standstill a lot easier.

Also i would probably try to keep the buttons for switching characters the same button. So press button 'whatever' to switch between characters AND back. The same goes for the special attack. Have a single button to turn it on and off..

I also noticed the background (mountains) do not tile/repeat properly.

This is actually the only thing you really should change. The rest of it is personal taste. I just like my game more responsive and think most people do.

Keep up the good work mate, you are doing fine :)

  • Indeed its coming along, the last time i tested i wasnt able to move - i think the effect when you change into Saske its cool with the screen shake. Well done :)

It looks like you have coded your movement yourself, have you tried using the "behaviour" platform option?

Regardless, I was having so much fun mucking around with the many ways to achieve a goal when i first started as well. Keep learning (I know I am!). Looking forward to further testing.

  • Yes, looking good, Freakblogger. I'd echo what GenkiGenga says and ask whether you've used the built-in C2 'platform' and 'solid' behaviors? As UberDrk says, "The response time before [Naruto] actually starts walking is too long" - which definitely suggests you're not using the built-in behaviors.

Check out my Building a platform game tutorial to see how to use them.

    Happy Constructing!

  • Also I would speed your animations up by a factor of 2-3.

  • Updated Thanks to everybody i really appreciate all your reviews and tips, every day when i work with this software i learned something new your tips and tutorials were of great use specially Velojet Tutorial, UberDark you find that animation issue now it the quality is improved lot better thanks for the remark.

Let me know how's my progress http://droidowners.co.cc/naruto/

  • Cool fire effect and yes the movement is so much more responsive now. I think that is excellent progress! Keep going and make it bigger and more elaborate :)

  • UberDark thanks and i will <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hey man I love the graphics but for some reason at the start of the level

and on some platforms he wont jump while running, as in when you're right arrow to run and if you press up to jump at the same time he wont do it a lot of the times.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Check it might work properly <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> and thanks for the complement. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Right now i am struggling to make AI enemy for this game soon i'll update LOS tutorial what i have checked so far were a good reference but not of much use. <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Any help from senior developers would be great help and appreciated      <img src="smileys/smiley42.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • I have not found any new related topic, and there is no reason to start a new one. I would like to do Naruto fighting game similar to dbzgames.org/games/bleach-vs-naruto-3-2 . Can someone recommend me useful tutorials?

    Thanks!

There is a reason to make a new topic in the fact you have posted in the creation of someone when you are posting a question on how to make something.

Consider rather posting in the "How do I" forum for Construct 2

  • Oh, sorry. And thank you for advice!
