New appMobi Build System Released

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Have I missed anything, or is it still not possible to build a official *.apk file with appMobi?

I can't find any input for signing with your release key.

[QUOTE=Quest] One question for appmobi people :)

Do you plan to provide an option (for iOS apps) to compile it with our own macs using Xcode, as phonegap does? If I want to upload a project to a cloud system it would be a pain! I have some projects that are 250/300mb+ in size (lot of music and retina GFX) and with my sh*tty 500kbps DSL connection, it is really bad.

Thanks!!

Appmobi released source code for this on github.

It's hereKnifegrinder2012-07-13 13:03:47

Yes, I saw that source code, but after many tries, It doesn't work, or at least, it's not complete/documented/ready to build.

You can already build and publish iOS apps (.ipa) using directCanvas. Android support is coming soon.

I hope they have removed all the unnecessary permissions from the apps. I don't think anybody want's to install any game that requires full admin rights to your phone.

@nemo At least for Android it's better now. You can disable most of the permissions.I dont know how it works on iPhone though.

In the base setup I tried, there is full network access, read phone status, system tools and account still needed to install. I find the account permission little strange, but maybe its something that the application needs to work.CodeMasterMike2012-07-13 14:16:34

@CodeMasterMike @nemo
     We are working on making a choice in our build system to select whether you want an app that has almost no permissions or extra add-ons (faster load up time), one that has the basic permissions and functions standard apps need, and one that has all permissions and all our extensions (typically just for beginners)AppmobiTyler2012-07-13 14:56:32

@BluePhaze I don't know if you heard the news yet but last week appMobi was acquired by Intel.

Also, Win8 and WP8 already have accelerated canvases so there's no need for directCanvas for them.
