Long story short, my friend took the appropriate files from Windows 7, rewrote them a bit, and copied the rewritten files to my system32 folder and added the appropriate registry keys. Only problem is, games that actually USE DX10 and 11 tend to also check the OS version, meaning it's not nearly as useful as it should be. :(
