  • Hello all,

I just developped a plugin to be able to communicate with NFC devices like tags or mobile.

    You can download it here

Tell me if anything gone wrong I need feedback to developp the plugin better

Donate if you want to support me !

    List of realeases

Now you can wake an app when tag is read (see this example)

You have to write once on the tag to initialize that app to launch and you are ready.

The only thing you have to know is the package name of the app.

TIP : Don't forget to add custom plugin into intel xdk

    Plugin ID : com.chariotsolutions.nfc.plugin

  • I have yet another request if you have time!

I would be really happy if you could update the NFC.capx to use all the functions in their intended way.

    READ, WRITE and UPDATE etc.

Or if you could explain all the actions and triggers here in the forum.

Also one last thing, would it be possible to add the function to have the plugin wake the app on NFC connection? https://github.com/chariotsolutions/pho ... ning-a-tag)

    Tnx!

  • sounds good!

i'll make a donate when i need this

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Tnx mate. Sorry for a late reply, been out of the country for few days. Keep up the great work!

  • If you have any special request or suggestions, please let me know

It would be neat is this worked on BlackBerry mobiles, is that possible?

  • Does the app have to be compiled with Crosswalk or is normal Cordova build enough? I saw that in your example you are building with Crosswalk...

  • I cannot get my app to react to NFC at all. I have tested the TAG device with other NFC reader apps and they gimme back data properly.

I have followed your example, but the app doesnt respond with anything on NFC Tag contact.

Tried with both Crosswalk, Android builds. Same results, even added some extra permissions (NFC and BIND_NFC_SERVICE) in XDK.

What i try to do is to make the app react when it finds a TAG. Then print the content (NFC.getLastData) to a textbox.

Is there any certain Cordova version or Crosswalk version i need to use to make it work? Any tip would be helpful, thanks!

  • It should work on BB now. (wich BB do you use ?)

frostyelk Sorry if it's not working for you :/

I will try to help you.

I'm building with crosswalk, i'll test with other now.

I made some research on NFC because you said you me you want to wake up an app when detecting NFC tag ?

I'm coding this now, please wait

Do you test with my example or with yours ?

Do you add in the NFC plugin in the external plugin tab (Plugins and permissions > Third party plugins) as I said it here ? :

  • Yes, i have added the plugin and ticked the box.

It is also stated in the build log that it has been loaded and compiled ok, so it´s not that....

I am more thinking that it could be that i have other programs that is set to react on NFC connections, and maybe that disturbs the NFC. So i will try and remove the other programs and see if that helps.

Also thinking that it could be the Cordova build version or maybe that i use the Stable version of Crosswalk. Did get a message that i should use version 10 instead of the current one.
