No audio in Chrome

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Mon Jun 25, 2012 8:26 pm

It's not really a Construct 2 bug, but it seems that HTML5 audio is muted (or buggy) in my Chrome (newest).

I just exported my new game, and sent a link to my friends and they can hear the sounds, but I can't. I went over Scirra Arcade and the other games are "muted" as well.

Can you guess what can the problem be? It worked just fine a few days earlier..

Are you using both recommended audio formats? http://www.scirra.com/manual/84/sounds-music

Even if you covet or use only .Wavs and use Construct to convert em to .ogg etc... Chrome still is behind Firefox as far as sound is concerned in my opinion.

Firefox is the best.

Yes, I'm using the recommended formats, and my friends can hear the sounds using Chrome.

Have you tried rebooting your computer and making sure your speakers are turned up? Sometimes the audio driver can crash and stop playing anything. (Not a problem with any particular browser, it could happen any time)

Yes, I tried, but before that I tried YouTube, so Flash is giving sounds. It never happened before [r96], but I'm not sure at all, that it's releated to it.. Firefox also plays HTML5 audio.

I looked into it a bit deeper: Only C2 made HTML5 audio not works in Chrome. I tried some HTML5 videos and other games witch are not on Scirra Arcade and they all had audio in Chrome. So now I'm a bit confused.

I just reinstalled Chrome, but C2 exported games still don't have any sound.. As far as I can remember it all started when I tested the Space Blaster windows demo.
Maybe Awesomium broke the sound. I don't know.
