node-webkit linux not working anymore

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:51 pm

Linux export with node-webkit used to work fine but in the last 3 version of construct it is not working any more. I mark the file executable but when I run it nothing happens.
Has anyone else the same problem or is it ubuntu 12.4 on my pc messed up?

Hi @fildubek, i have same problem with you before.
I'm tested my Construct 2 game exported with Node Web Kit in Linux Ubuntu 13.04 32-bit.

I've found the solution here:
https://github.com/rogerwang/node-webkit/wiki/The-solution-of-lacking-libudev.so.0

Here is my screenshot to prove my game is worked on Linux Ubuntu 13.04 32-bit using Node Webkit:

Thanks but I managed to fix it when I completely unistalled construct and cleaned windows registry. After that I installed construct again and Linux exports were functioning normally again.

You can get it to work on Ubu but you need to troubleshoot it, and it is due to libudev.so.0 no longer being supported for recent Linuxes, its changed to libudev.so.1!

But you cannot ask your users to run through that hurdle so officially, Linux exporter is for commercial purposes, broken.

NodeWebkit needs to update to fix it. :/

No, as of testing a week ago, it's still not fixed.
