  • Hello everyone I'm new to forums as well as Construct Classic.   <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I would like to know how to make the 2D Player Character pick up and throw function object like in Mario brother 2 or the Chip n Dale game for the NES. <img src="smileys/smiley24.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

You see, I'm working on a Mario 2 inspired game. If someone can post a simple .cap file explaining the function for me I would be much grateful.

    Thank you

  • Platform Throw

Crudely put together (it's late) but is that what you had in mind?

  • Untune beat me to it.But here is the chip n dale type pickup. If you stand on top of the box and press the down arrow key plus the spacebar then the char will pick up the box , Press F key to shoot the box.

    Download Demo Cap

  • Thanks guys <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> By the way Untune, your I think link is broken. I cannot access your file. A message pops up that says "Internal Server Error" I would like to see your .cap file as well <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> Perhaps re-posting the link will fix it? <img src="smileys/smiley29.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Sorry about that, posted the link incorrectly. Works now - mine and Draven's are practically the same though haha, so I don't know if it'll be of much use! <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Wow! <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Awesome job! <img src="smileys/smiley20.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> Buy the way is it possible to have the the pick up button the same as the throw button? or will that cause a conflict of confusion with the code being that they are the same button? <img src="smileys/smiley3.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

But thank you guys for the reference!

  • Yeah I rushed that a bit last night, try this updated one. Could do with some tweaking and improvement but hopefully it gets the general idea across
