Normal play vs Debugging play

I have things in my game that move at a certain speed during normal play, but when I start to play it in debugging mode, the platforms will go at a much different speed, and sometimes one platform will move faster than the others, when they are ALL supposed to move at the same speed. Why would playing it in debugging mode affect it's speed? Is it because all the information at the bottom are loading? Which 'version' do I trust? The regular play or the debugging play?

I have a feeling your "faster moving in debug mode" means the objects move in a stutter fashion in a lower framerate. If this is the case, see https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/67/del ... dependence

In debug play, games tend to stutter a lot given there are lots of information to process and show to you.

which version do i trust?

trust the normal version, not the debug version. The true performance is on normal version.
I got a game that you multiply, breath fire with two heads and brawl foes to oblivion with your clones: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/660664 (use Chrome on Windows for best performance)

You will see more performance by utilizing other debug features, such as Watch and Profile. Inspect mode in the debugger always kills the framerate. You can also build in an FPS counter of your own, too, in "normal" play. And yeah, delta time is your friend in everything, like kerb linked.
