3 questions @DiegoM

1)Where is the layout objects bar (did you get rid of it?)
2)Where is the array editor
3)Where is the dictionary editor

I know you have a lot of bug reports to look at, so thanks in advance :)

1)
The Objects Bar is no more. One of the main ideas behind Construct 3 was to get rid of some of the things that had piled up in Construct 2 and weren't central. Although someone else did mention it during the Alpha period, so maybe if there is enough interest it might be brought back.

2)
In order to bring up the Array and Dictionary editors you first need to create those files, to do so right click in the Files folder in the Project Bar, then click New and lastly choose Array or Dictionary.

The new editors will appear as new tabs just like a layout or event sheet would. The legend tells they can also be detached and moved around just like layout and event sheet tabs.

please bring it back, its imposible to do map edition without it, if you have multiple objects that are the same and you want to change an instance variable or move them all togheter its impossible to do now.

btw that was a really bad answer, you guys basically took it off without any feedback from users or explanation.

edit: now is impossible to even know what objects are in what layer... please dont remove anything like that without the proper feedback from users, since the project bar is something that people can close and something "optional" (its really needed tbh..) just leave it there...

We removed the object bar because it basically duplicated the functionality of the objects folder in the Project Bar. For example you mention selecting all objects of a type - that's what you can do in the project bar too.

We may bring it back, or possibly introduce a variant to perform the same task in a different way, but it didn't seem necessary to include it any more.

As mentioned, selecting in the Project bar is how most users actually do select all instances of an Object Type. Only a fistful of users seems to prefer using the object bar for this.

In the project bar right click an object and click "Find all references". The search dialog pops up and mentions in what layout the object is being used in the first lines.
The object bar did not allow for a "per layer" filter anyway.
This was indicated in the blog article on Finding Construct 3 projects.

Impossible you said ?

Perhaps missing an explanation (although design decisions and simplification of what is not necessary in the UI doesn't need much of an explanation) but what do you know of the actual feedback Scirra do gets from users and how can you be so sure it hasn't been taken into consideration ?

Through the 249 releases of Construct 2 can't you see that feedback has always been taken seriously in consideration and even implemented ?
Why do you think it's been/will be different with Construct 3 ?
New to Construct ? Where to start
