  • guys the new android game console that's coming out, OUYA; can C2 games run on it automatically; or is there a middleware that needs to be created first? any info on future C2 versions providing native support on that platform?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Other than Web ... C2 doesn't export natively , all of the exporting is done using wrappers . For now ... I don't think C2 can do it natively taking note that you need CocoonJs or Appmobi to wrap to Android . But I can positively affirm that we will be able to make games to OUYA if it is really an Android Console !

    Cheers !

  • My concern is Cocoonjs. I'm hoping they took the opportunity to get an Ouya dev kit and will be prepping Cocoonjs for it. It would be a major dissapoinment if they aren't.

  • right on the money, jayderyu; i dont even know what kind of reception ouya would have; but if it becomes popular C2 should beat other platforms (eg yoyo GameMaker, et al)and be the first to port its library of content over to the new platform. like you said, hope they've received, and incorporated the ouya dev kit

  • bah, from the Ouya site.

"I love CocoonJS, and everything works fine atm, I just want to tell you about a thought that occured to me today:

Ouya. If you don't know about it yet, it's an android game console. It would just be wonderful if we could get controller input events in cocoonjs. Will this maybe happen or doesn't it fit your philosophy or something?

Dev kit comes in december I think...

Sorry about English mistakes, corrections appreciated. ;D

Leo, We are not integrating controller SDKs/APIs at the moment. Thank you!

    Ludei August 29 Developer support"

I feel Cocoonjs can work on the Ouya store, but I'm not sure how capable any C2 games will be without appropriate ouya sdk. We could be fortunate that the controllers will work(short of the touch). It may be that we will have to support Ouya in js ourselves... I honestly have no idea right now how it's going to happen

  • Hi everyone!

The Ouya project does certainly look interesting, but we don't have the SDK... nor the device itself!

From what we've seen, it looks like a pretty standard Android device with a couple of APIs on top to provide specific hardware support, so it shouldn't be very hard to provide full support for it.

However, unless someone sends us over a devkit (and we manage to save a couple of days to tinker with it), I guess it'll have to wait for the moment ;-)

    Regards!

It looks good news, because we require extra API to integrate controller, interface system, etc. It would require a third party plugin to integrate C2.

I believe someone had OUYA early SDK on this forum, i don't recall whats username

  • Any news on this?

Looks like Ouya dev kits are starting to ship! <img src="smileys/smiley41.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • The Scirra team recently received an Ouya. They even posted a picture over Facebook. I'm sure they will eventually post their thoughts/opinions as a blog post.
