Overlap 2D App Useful for Construct 2?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Tue Mar 31, 2015 10:54 pm

I was very impressed by the demo I've seen (posted by the Spriter fellows) - showing how to get realtime animated feedback from your sprites and whole levels - making lots of adjustments, etc - before even placing these things within a game engine (like Construct 2).

The format that Overlap 2D uses is .json - just like the Spriter api uses for export and import into Construct 2. Has anyone tested the import of Overlap 2D's .json files - or discovered how to make use of them in Construct 2?

I'm not a technician - just a humble artist - so the more non-technical you can make your reply, the better (for me and for a lot of people).

Thank you, seriously,

It's really time consuming to work on this stuff, and there are a bunch of tools like this out there. It's much better if the developers can take our Javascript SDK and integrate it themselves. That's what the SDK is there for.

the developer of overlap2d sent me this : "I am not sure how this can be related to overlap2d. overlap2d is just an editor that will export a file that says "where the lights are"
It will not render the lights for you (outside the editor). There are runtimes for different programming languages that will read that data and render the lights accordingly, currently for Java -libgdx, and Actionscript-haxe.
As far as I understand Construct2 is both engine and editor. Does it's engine part, capable of rendering lights, if so, how?"

i told him to contact ashley or post here for any information cause i dont speak english very good and im afraid to say something wrong.
