Paralx Question

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 12:26 am

I have bacground layer set to paralx 60,0. when the player moves left and right everything looks fine. The backround layer is on the bottom of my window. But when I jump the Background doesnt move down, for sure. That doesnt look natural.
But when I set the bac, lkground layer to paralax 60,20 it isnt placed at the bottom of the window anymore. Where is the trick. Is it a trail and error thing since the backround is placed right?

I dont understand! Please help me. Thanks.

I couldn't understand it all but 60, 0 means it will move at 60% speed horizontally and won't move at all vertically. Maybe you want to set it 60,60 ? That would be the natural behavior. About the 60,20 i can only understand it if you showed the capx

Sorry.
Perhaps I should make a picture to explain my problem. I will post it in the evening.

Just copy the link and paste into the browser.
If your vision so exceeds your ability, then look to something closer.

Take a look at this,

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51270524/Platform.zip

Its fixed to me, i think the problem was to do with the registration point of your BG, To get the position needed i just added a mouse object, set the GB to the mouse and found a approximate y position of the BG so then i new where to set it, i then added a event; on start of layout to set the position of the BG

I couldn't tell you the logic exactly (@Ashley is the better person for that I guess) but to obtain the effect you want, I placed BG at y = 188 and it worked. (in 40,40 parallax)

Thought: it's about half of the layout, so maybe it has to do with this.Kyatric2011-12-07 21:06:47

Thank you.

@Kyatric: Now it works, but I realy dont know how you get the Y-Position. Did you make it by hand? Trying and trying?
