Pathfinder Suggestion

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Sun Oct 13, 2013 4:07 pm

Hey Scirra, thanks for the regular, fantastic updates, the user interface design for C2 is now brilliant :) However, I've noticed one thing that would at least make my own life a bit easier (and hopefully others?)

Would you be able to put a Pathfinder 'Event' that checks the direction of movement for an object please (so as to assign animations specific to the direction of pathfinder movement).

Thanks :)

Doesn't the pathfinding MovingAngle expression already let you do that?

@Ashley
I think the OP wants this algorythym built in

player.SetAnimation("walk" & ceil(8*(1 + pathfind.angle / 360) - 0.5) % 8)

While it might be helpful built in, others have found a good solution.

While that formula might look a little complicated, the requested behavior might be just as much, if not more, especially when you consider the user might want just 4 frames, or 16 animations.

Sorry, I would be interested to know what other people's solutions are that they have found for this, because I still cannot get it quite perfect :)
