Pathfinding sort of working (help needed)

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

I got pathfinding sort of working. It's inconsistent. Sometimes it works but I have to click multiple times to get my sprite to move. Is there something I can optimise to get more consistent behaviour? Here's a link to the .capx: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eoe3rgazgv7ihbr/IDreamofGhosts.capxghostwheel2013-06-21 20:36:28

@ghostwheel - I didn't play your capx, but from my own messing around with pathfinding, I've realized that it doesn't work instantly. It takes time for the behavior to calculate the best path and go. So, when you say you have to click multiple times for it to move, perhaps you just aren't giving it enough time to find a path.

@ghostwheel
sorry can't help and this is why

if wanting help with ongoing projects I'd suggest not using 3rd party plugins or recreate a .capx without the 3rd party plugins so you can be helped then you can implement into your .capx with your 3rd party pluginsDrGreenThumbCAN2013-06-24 02:15:39

Sorry about that. I think I removed all references to the 3rd party plugins, here's the new version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x60b4auqs1u6w56/IDreamofGhostsNoplugs.capx

You need the On Pathfinding path found event. Move your Move along path here.

@ghostwheel
As blackhornet said your move path was incorrectly placed.
After find path to...
need new trigger On PATH found
then place move along and animation changes
editted the capx accordingly

also REALLY like the art style and atmosphere

IDreamOfGhosts-EDIT r132

--only disabled the wait because not sure if you are using it for a game mechanic - the wait isn't necessary so can just delete if don't need~~

Btw, the wait is there because the animation starts right away and it looks like he's trying to moonwalk. I'm not sure how to put a proper delay in the animation.ghostwheel2013-06-30 19:02:55

Why not just have the sprite stay on a particular frame of animation until the move along path call?
