PC game: Marauders Corona of the sky

Got a demo of my game up and running. Demo has one level and 16 missions.

A little about the game:

2d Platformer.

1 player.

similar style to megamane but with strider style slashing.

You can use keyboard but pad is highly recommended.

It would be great if people could give me any feedback on bugs or concerns for the game.

If you dowloaded it within the first ten minutes I sent the wrong file and its been uploaded with the right one.

Added keyboard functionality to the stage select... seemed like it was kind of important to add in.

I think you should upload it to dropbox instead so people can play it live from your dropbox rather then downloading the file. Personally I prefer to test games live.

Although the presentation of the game does look pretty good.

Wasn't fully intended for web play so music can take a little to load before it plays but the gameplay seems to work fine as far as ive tested.

Excellent! I can't believe no one has commented on this yet.

The amount of work in this is impressive; I like how you put in a lot of animations to keep the characters and background alive.

I also think the slashing attack is great; it's difficult to do right but satisfying when you do.

The J and L buttons are also a great combo for dodging and attacking; overall, a very flexible range of controls.

Just 1 thing, though: I hope you give the main character more than 3 HP. Usually in a game with enemy bullets, your health is longer, because there's a lot of them to dodge. Even classic Megaman could take 8-10 bullets before dying. I hope you can increase the health so I can enjoy the game better.

But besides that...this is fantastic! I'd like to see more of it. :)

The 3 hp was made to give enough challenge to the level without being too hard. There are checkpoints throughout the level in small 1-3 minute chunks that gives you full hp back once completed.

Hey there mapmerry, your screenshots were doing injustice to your accomplishment. I watched the video and I really liked what I saw. Are you going to enhance the graphics somehow or is this more or less the final look?

Might be doing more scpecial visual effects and particles by the end of it but the characters themselves are final assets.

Sounds like a good idea to me! Only about 22% complete yet but once its finished Ill see what I can do.
