Pen imput

  • Hi

I?m using a Vaio Duo 11 with Windows 8 Pro, and this thing uses a stylus and touch input. For the right click, the stylus uses a combination of touching the screen and pressing a button. For the touch input, you are supposed to keep hold of the finger for about a second.

None of those work in Construct 2. If I right click with a mouse, the menu opens ok, but since this hybrid has no mouse, it?s rather inconvenient that there?s no way to right click on Construct 2 with the default input.

Operating system & service pack: Windows 8 Pro 64 bits

    Construct 2 version: 114 64 bits

  • Try Construct 3

  • Are you sure this is a bug in Construct 2? Isn't it a compatibility problem with the pen?

  • Does the pen have settings/options for mouse emulation? Same with the touch, is there anything in the Control panel?

I tried to find something on Google, is there a "Touch" button for times when the right click doesn't work? (like task bar icons)

Quoting a guy who left a comment on a review:

"Most people will probably use a mouse, or touch screen, so I think the only reason Sony included the touch key was to give it right click functionality without a mouse in places where touch screen won't work like the task bar icons."

  • as far as I can tell, this only happens with construct 2. no other program exhibits the behavior.

on a side note, N-trig tells me this:

"In Windows 8 N-trig does not ship any drivers because Microsoft locked it all down. They own the USB HID driver that our DuoSense touch and pen digitizer uses."

so, no, there are no special settings for the pen, or touch.

  • Hello,

Is there any solution found for this issue? I am using a touch interface and right click isn't registering when holding pen down (it is working fine with all other applications).
