  • I enjoyed it.

Perhaps you could make it so left click rotates the selected shape and right click flips it, as it felt quite slow and unintuitive having to keep going down to the corner of the screen and clicking the buttons, especially as your timed.

Thanks, glad you liked it. pentapuzzle was made for the Newgrounds TouchJam contest, so it isn't optimized for mouse controls yet. But I like your ideas and will probably implement something like it later.

that is quite the awesome sauce. simple, challenging...fun. the trifecta.

and Ethan is correct. mouse based manipulating will make the game more intuitive. precious seconds are lost looking for the right tool. the fact that you want to find the tool quickly, is a testament to how fun the game is. it has a simple, but engaging tension like your zombie game.

very nice mechanic as well. kids and adults can enjoy it.

    well done.

harrio Ethan - thanks you guys, I'm glad you liked it. And based upon your suggestions, I have implemented mouse controls, too. I originally made the game for Touchjam, so touch controls were first and foremost. But, give it a try now with the mouse. You might need to clear out your cache, which will lose your times, but with the mouse, you will probably be faster anyway.

  • I really enjoy this kind of puzzle game, and this one is really enjoyable, but I was wondering:

Will you do like the game boy's Daedelian Opus? (aka: have some objects which are not necessary to complete a level sometimes?)

  • So.... I normally get easily bored with this sort of game, but if this didn't just slap my mind around for a bit!

    You, sir, should be congratulated!

  • Aphrodite - thanks, and that is an interesting idea. The current 40 levels don't have any unused blocks, but that is something I might implement in the future. Boy, that would make a tough game even more of a challenge.

RandomFellow - thanks for the kind words. Glad you liked it.

ah yes, the touch controls. i did not take that into consideration. that is the theme of the contest.

well then, if you space the pieces out enough, you can have a matrix of the controls appear around the piece that you touch/select, instead of having them off to the side. that way, no matter which piece you select, the controls are right there, intuitively surrounding the selected piece only.

and unused blocks is cruel and unusual punishment...lol.

  • hi, I noticed last night it was on the arcade and went to play it.. you know when you turn the piece ? it would turn but it wouldn't hold its position.. when I went to drag it; it would keep turning. I know i was able to play it before fine.on the competition entry

thought I would try it again in a different browser..when i had more time.. I didn't want to say anything on the arcade..Have you tested it on there?

  • mineet - are you playing with mouse controls or on a touch device? I am using desktop computer with mouse and Google Chrome and do not have the "rotate problem" you describe. But you've had other problems with my games too - like Help the Ball, I think - so I'm not sure what to say. Wish it worked well for you.
