pick up/use items

Get help using Construct 2

Hey ya'll.

Im working on a platformer and I want to incorporate guns into the game. The thing is, the character starts out with nothing, meaning he "punches" and then later on when he finds a gun, he can use it.

The only problem is, is that I don't exactly know how to do that. Do I use a collision box and set that, when collided, the weapon image disappears, giving the character a new gun, making the character then have a new animation?

Any and all feedback is helpful! Thank you so much for those who help!

You could destroy both the Player and Gun sprite and create a new sprite of player holding the gun. Depends on how detailed your sprite is and how much either moves. You could also simply destroy the Gun sprite on intersection and create a new one at an Image Point located at the Player's hand. I have included a .capx of the second with comments.
