vdrake75 (if that is your real name), this forum is here to help people learn Construct.
If your not interested in doing that, then why do you continue to post here?

I know the replies so far are pretty discouraging, but naming it after scirra, as opposed to construct probably shouldn't be done without permission.

The dev team represents the scirra entity, and whatever work they put into maintaining a professional image is kinda sidestepped with messages like "scirra is down". Or if your site gets overrun by spambots.
Why not construct.whatever.com

The current setup really implies affiliation imho

The site seems nice, and it's a normal thing for good products to have fan sites with news and other content related to said product.

That said, I have to agree with Lucid's point above. Scirra is not the product name. Construct is. Scirra is the name of the dev team, and they may very well publish other products under it. Have a look here: [url:39nynws0]http://www.scirra.com/about.php[/url:39nynws0]

Also, nothing's stopping them from going commercial with any of their endeavors, at which point other sites using their name might be more disagreeable. I would have a talk with them before doing such a thing, myself.

Hi guys,
you are right with the name, I shouldn't name it Scirra Games. But unfortunately that doesn't matter now, because ning changed their rules and from next month they will provide only service with subscription which I might consider to pay if there were more people involved, but at the moment we have 7 or 8 members so website will be closed soon.
Cheers to everyone who signed up and I apologise Construct devs if my naming convention was inappropriate.
cheers

Thats a shame. I know I signed up but I haven't posted anything yet and looks like I won't have the oppertunity.

Have you considered a free Blogger account or Wordpress. Instead of letting people posting their projects you could post about them yourself.

Similar to GMG's http://madewithconstruct.tumblr.com/

I think this is the only part of the Construct Community that is lacking really. The Dev's are great and listen to bugs, suggestions and work really hard on new versions. The help provided by forum members is superb with multiple answers to questions and speedy replies.

But the support for each others Construct Games/projects is lacking. Feedback on games is almost non-existant with most games getting only a few replies. I know you can't force people to rate, play, download and give feedback, but it wouldn't hurt.

Sorry for the little rant - But as a Community I think we could improve here :)

Hello everyone again.
Don't worry Minor, I manage to find a solution :).

As I mentioned before Ning becoming commercial platform so website will be terminated soon.
As I really think construct could benefit from having place where all the games could be stored in one place, I manage to find another platform which seems to be very similar to Ning and works quite good.
If everyone who sign up to ning could migrate to SocialGo it would be awesome.
Hope to see you there and let's populate this website with awesome games.

Nice to see you found a free alternative.

Will sign up later and have a poke around see how it all works.

Ahh, the Ning page was excellent. I'm giving SocialGo a try. Maybe I'll post a few WIP pics sometime soon. Thanks for getting this together :)
