This is a single chapter from the "Construct Starter Kit Collection". It is the Student Workbook for its Workshop.
  • I just finished my advanced object Creator. It allows you to create objects by name an instantly set the Height Width and Angle. This option allows you to easily create new instances of the same objects without having to deal with object picking. It also has a create grid feature that will do just that for easy grid making. It also has two scatter options one with randomized Dimensions and one without. I hope you find some cool uses with it I know i have one in mind(Thats why I made it )

    Get the Advanced Object Creator

    Put the .csx in the Plugins folder in construct directory in program files and the .csx file in the runtime folder goes in the runtime folder under the plugins folder.

    Any comments and suggestions I am willing to hear and If they are good I may go back and add them in

    Any way its a nice start, I can defiantly see a few ways this can be useful.

    Just needs a few things ironed out.

    Like leaving 0 for layer doesn't go to the default, and I got a crash on the scatter part when I didn't put a difference between min, and max values for angle.

    AdvancedObjectCreatorScatter (50) copies of ("Sprite") through the x area of (500,10) Y area of (400,10) between angles (0,0) on layer (1)

  • Certainly an interesting plugin. This would make it very easy to create multiples of the same object with different sizing and location attributes. I can see it being a bit less heavy on the CPU being one event as opposed to having to read through multiple events.

    I could see this also being great for generating large groups of slightly varying objects quick and easily. Randomly generating walls for dynamically changing dungeons specifically come to mind. I'd like to see what others can come up with using this.

  • I fixed a bunch of stuff with the Scatter options

    Still cant get the layer value to default to 1 so you will just have to set it in the params.

  • opacity and filter controls would be nice to have, even animation+frame controls. thats what id expect from an advanced object creator. this is just a transformation creator

  • Hmm i will give this a go soon as the current height and width options on the canvas don't change the actual height and width they only stretch it, which i have asked to be changed/fixed a few times to no success, i hope this new plugin can actually do it!

  • It would be that same thing as setting the Height and width with events. I also am working on a new build. Some things go messed up in one of them when I was cleaning the order of the paramters. So any more suggestions are gladly taken just post them here with details on whether they are params to add or new actions.

  • What are you talking about? It changes the height and width because it's stretching it... they're not mutually exclusive or anything.

    Even changing the height and width of things in photoshop with free transform "Stretch" things as you put it. What exactly are you looking for? It to Fill up with white space when you change the height and or width?

    if so, then create a new larger canvas, and paste the old canvas onto it, then erase the old canvas
