@harrisyu @rexrainbow : the solution is to use the plugin for <img>, and give it a z-index above the video.

Edit : by the way, it's going to be slow, because the CPU/GPU pair doesn't like to composite an immutable DOM object over a changing one (the video).Pode2012-10-08 16:51:29

@harrisyu

@Pode is right. You could first put a video object, then put an image object (which created by @Pode). The image object will be placed front of video object at runtime.rexrainbow2012-10-09 08:25:40

Update:

These are provided by @Pode.
- Add "expression:SourceWidth", "expression:SourceHeight" to get source video width and height
- Add "condition:On play", it triggered when start playing (after pause).
- Add "action:Stop" to stop playing.
- Add "action:SetVisible" to hide this video object.
- Add JP Deblonde (Pode) to "author".rexrainbow2012-10-17 04:21:13

Would this work for a Myst style game or is better to simply split a whole video into several individual sprites and soundfiles?

This idea is interesting, but as far as I know, it's hard to "sync" the frames with your triggers by video.
It's work or not depends on how precise you want your game looks like.

Hello!

I want to insert a video for an executable versin of my videogame (with awesomium). I tried this:
I test the case of "reading video file in exported folder", it work.

You can try by these steps.
1. download test file (movie.ogg) from gonzdevour's link
http://www.w3schools.com/html5/movie.ogg
2. in capx, assign src url to "movie.ogg", then export capx.
3. put movie.ogg downloaded (at step1) into export folder (at step2)
4. open the index.html in exported folder. It works in my testing.
But it doesn't work. Any help?

Thanks!

@nastycloud

This plugin only played video on browser. Sorry I don't have time to make it working on awesomium platform.
