Poll: new default color scheme?

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Wed Nov 27, 2013 2:25 am

I prefer the Default theme's lighter colors over the more grey-blue Windows 7 look. The Default theme to me has a better contrast balance overall, making it easier to distinguish action lists from each other. However, it would be nice to have some other colors on variables/includes as MadFactory said.

Although I like the green variable definitions, my least favorite part of the Windows 7 theme is the dark grey include boxes. If you change this theme to the default, please consider making them lighter.

The other two themes have more severe contrast issues and just feel too grey.

The Default theme with lightly colored variables/includes, and a more light-bluish tint rather than purple would be awesome.

@harvest - thank you very much for that theme xml. I LIKE it!

PS I dislike the Windows 7 theme - how can it be winning?

The Truth? That is also the "color" tab I found out just now. Never color editor has not been a problem for me. I was not mistaken, when voted to "Default"

odd, my computer at home does change the colours, unlike my office machine.

Windows 7 theme is very drab, I prefer default.

Hi all.

For me dark colours are always distraction in a programming environment.

I find the current default them to be clean and very easy on the eye even after hours of use.

So my vote is for the default theme...

The windows 7 has a bit better distinction for groups and such in the events sheet, so windows one for me :)

also, @ashley

I think there is a problem with construct and the color changing in the beta.
I never experienced construct 2 laggyness like I did after changing the colors.
some of the side panels suddenly slide open very very slowly after setting a color scheme (closing and opening construct fixes that)   But it doesnt happen everytime.

I just noticed the laggyness once I started fiddling with the colors.

Hey! Happy to contribute and see the theme was usefull...

Let me just point out that i'm NOT suggesting changing the default theme.. Choice is always better, this is not meant to be a Light vs Dark discussion i like both "styles".

What i mean is give devs further options ;) Variations of Light & Dark alike independent of the Default chosen theme that's all.
