  • May I ask: was this done using phonegap? It was laggy on my tablet, but since I am behind in android versions, that would explain it (since phonegap works best on the android L webview, and ... tries to work for older versions due to their crappy webview).

Gameplay wize, it is pong, not a lot to say about it, graphic wise, it was nice, the mute button seems to work on touched pressed and released, which is kind of a problem.

PS:bottom bar ads were working, if you were wondering.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Thanks for your feedback!

the game was build with Intel XDK Cordova Build, the "normal" Android build, thats the same as phonegap wright?

  • Is this multiplayer? Seems like a very good way to reuse the multiplayer example .

  • im currently working on the multiplayer version

having some problems with the wright synching but i hope to figure everything out at the weekend

I think cordova is indeed another name for phonegap, so that explains it ^^

  • yeah its not perfect, i noticed some bugs and its not running well on every device and on some it doesnt even finish loading, like Samsung S3 mini and thats not so good because so many people use this phone

but the apk is so small and on my old Sony Xperia Ray it does run with the same speed as the over twenty times huger (which is a real problem for older devices) crosswalk apk so im not sure what i should use.

I decided to wait for some more feedback and numbers from the playstore on how its behaving on other peoples devices but for such small games im not sure anyone would spend over 50mb for having them.

what device and android version do you use? just for my records

  • Samsung galaxy tab 3, 10.1 "

    Android 4.2.2

Phonegap/cordova on android L I think is the exact same browser engine as crosswalks without the overhead in size (the webview is I think based on chrome for android, as crosswalk is too), older android versions being the problem (since their webview is pretty much baaad), I cannot give advice on which one to choose even though I would personnaly use crosswalk for a little longer before switching to cordova.

  • Nice work!, the multiplayer version will be welcome.
