Prevent users from stealing my assets

Get help using Construct 2

Post » Thu Apr 27, 2017 2:32 pm

i can export to 3 platforms: Windows, Mac,Linux and have a slight problem. You see, when i export to Mac and Linux, i can see my assets and thats not good. When players play my game, they go to the folder, they see the assets, they steal them without my permission. I want to prevent this from happening. How can I accomplish this?

Stupid answer, but does minify work? It's supposed to make it harder to decompile. I dunno if that's just for code or not though.

@Bobbyneal100

Look for an app that can bundle all your files into a single executable.

You can sort of do this with WinRAR, but it creates a temp folder that it extracts everything to before running, so the assets are still accessible, just not immediately obvious to basic users. There are also issues with saves/local storage, since they can't go into the WinRAR package.

Other executable bundlers might have similar issues.
