  • Hello all

I have seen both the potential of Q3D and Babylon 3D, and they both seem good to make Construct 2 a 3D editor. The former seems to be the generally used plugin, but is Babylon 3D as good or even better?

Any information related to performance, usability or cool features for either is appreciated. I just want to know which one everyone prefers!!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Q3D is based on three.js and has been available for years and is now pretty much feature-complete. QuaziGNRLnose is super-knowledgeable about it. I just published a game with it and am really surprised by how much you can do with the plugins.

Babylon is based on babylon.js, is less than a year old, and is currently under active development by I haven't used it personally yet for a project, but X3M is working like crazy to add all sorts of cool stuff to it.

  • Kyatric I think this post must be moved out

  • : Why ?

  • : Why ?

does Completed Addons section just for the plugin Developer to showcase his plugin?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • : I think it works for questions about third-part addons as well.

To me it makes sense to have such a comparison question here.

  • I just recently got started trying out Q3D again. So far so good, but my only issue so far is getting character animations in. As I'm using Maya LT, and there's no exporter to the js file type I'm kind of stuck. There is an exporter for blender, and full Maya, but I all my models are created in Maya LT. I'm going to try Babylon as well as i know it has a tool to covert fbx files to babylon.js

tunepunk, I'm not sure if you are in the same boat as me, but I ended up using .obj files for anything that didn't need custom materials.

I found http://www.clara.io. Online converter/editor takes most formats, and coverts to threeJS and babylonJS made a post in Tools & Resources section about it.

    Kyatric

Yeah, I wasn't sure where to post it. After I didn't get any replies, I thought I must have posted it in the wrong section. So, I created a different thread in the 'Construct 2 general' section, where I got some useful replies too. Sorry about that
