R100 to be released on 22nd August

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Wed Aug 15, 2012 5:02 am

Hey everyone, for those who didn't know, Ashley just announced in the blog that r100 will be released on the 22nd of august, which is just a week away!
60 WebGL shader effects included for amazing native-grade visual effect processing, with a new SDK allowing for your own custom-written effects in GLSL.
I can't wait to check out these 60 shaders and confirm how useful they'll be. Also, looking forward to see what the community does with the SDK.

@Tom it might already be.

That is a very good question.
From what I've heard Ashley say so far, I'm guessing it'll be a beta.

It will be a beta release, there's no way we could justify calling it stable with such a huge amount of code changes.

I'm curious to know how the shader SDK will work and if we can write our own shaders from scratch in GLSL. Also what version of GLSL is implemented?

I supposed the answer to the first question is yes and to an extent we could already do this by editing the source of our exports. Just looking for some more details on the shader implementation so I can start cranking as soon as it comes out. I'm sure with the enthusiastic community here we will dramatically expand the shaders in short order - though 60 is quite an impressive offering right out of the gate.

R100....Amazing..!!!

In most cases, when a new Software or a big Update (with a lot of code changes) comes out, it will be not free of some bugs. But that is okay i think. But to see what the "Team Ashley" have created in a so short Time - it is amazing...or better let me say...that is worldclass!

From release to release...the World domination comes nearer...

I'll still be using it, I'll always used beta releases even if it occasionally crashes or makes my game crash because it's just more fun that way. Haha!
