  • I cannot reproduce this, it works here. Please see how to report bugs - can you provide any more information about the problem?

  • Ashley sorry for my bad bug report.

    This is sample .capx

    1.bugC2r105 import ogg.capx (Construct 2 r105 Beta)

    2.c2r103.2 no bug.capx (Construct 2 r103.2 Stable)

    http://www.mediafire.com/?rra5v7lvyt4mpk4

    Problem Steps:

    1.Try to Import Sounds

    2.Open .wav file

3.Converted to .m4a, but failed convert to .ogg

Using Windows 8 RTM (Enterprise Evaluation)

  • I've had this problem before - send Ashley the sound file you're trying to import as well or even a cropped bit of it if you don't want to send the whole thing (make sure the cropped version doesn't work as well, though).

C2 appears to have a problem with some sounds for some reason. I tried getting around it by converting the sound I had from wav to various other formats and back with audacity, but the only one that worked was converting it to an mp3 then back to a wav.

  • Try Construct 3

  • That's a good point, your .wav files ought to be 16-bit PCM at a common frequency, otherwise the Ogg encoder might not be able to read it. Can you share the .wav file you imported?

  • r104 and r105 cannot convert my files to ogg

    r103 works fine

  • this is sample .wav that i'm used.

I have try for other .wav files, and the problem still same for C2 r105.

  • I think this may be related to digital signatures, and I think it should be fixed in r106. Let me know how it goes when it's out.

  • Ok Ashley, thanks for your respond.

I'll waiting for next release :)

  • Ashley, in C2 r106 the problem still going.

I have tested manually to convert .ogg from D:\Program Files\Construct 2\tools\audio\oggenc2.exe

    From command prompt says:

"This version of D:\Program Files\Construct 2\tools\audio\oggenc2.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information and then contact the software publisher."

    Update:

I have try it to in C2 r103.2 Stable Version, the ogg tools works fine.

  • kenli - that is very strange! We haven't updated the tool for months so it should be exactly the same file. If you right click the file and choose Properties, is it running in some kind of compatibility mode in r103.2?

  • Ashley - Yes, i have try that "right click the file and choose Properties-Compatibility-Windows 7/Windows XP" on oggenc2.exe in C2 r106, compatibility problem still going.

For C2 r103.2 i didn't use any Compatibility features, just use oggenc2.exe normally withouh any changes and works normally like the screenshot i post before.

I'm agree, this is very strange problem, especially because you say the tool, "oggenc2.exe", exactly the same file, and no problem with r103.2

I haven't tested it on Windows 7 PC, i will review again when i'm finished test on Windows 7.

    Thanks for fast response :)

  • I have the same problem in r106

Dropped in a new oggenc2.exe and it worked fine.

    rarewares.org/files/ogg/oggenc2.87-1.3.3-generic.zip

Must be something to do with the digital signatures I would think.

Oh, thanks for the information mutuware :)

    Edit:

Have tested it, it works ^^

  • i am just going to warn you i discovered problems with pcm 16-bit wave files that didnt convert successfully with r114. sound effects wouldn't work in chrome but music did which doesnt make sense (adding .occ files didnt solve the problem). the solution i had was exporting adobe audition cs6 files with stereo 11025 hz which makes it compatible with converting and the chrome browser. it seems to solve all audio related problems i was having.
