Rate my app button

Get help using Construct 2

Hi All,

I was wondered if I could get some advice on the topic of, including a "rate my app" button, within my game. I had a look through the forum and tutorial sections, but haven't found anything so far.

I've been testing using CocconJS, and I'm hoping to eventually release on both Android and iPhone.

I can work out how to create the button, and I know I'll need to re-direct users to the appropriate URL (Android or iPhone) so they can rate the app.

What I'm not sure of is how can I tell which URL (Android or iPhone), I should use. Is there a way I can determine whether the app is being run on an Android or iPhone?

Any advice you could offer would be very helpful.

Thanks for your help.

I was looking for something similar for iOS.

What I ended up doing for iOS is follow these new guidlines from apple:

https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#qa/qa1633/_index.html

Basically it's using a link in this format,

   "http://appstore.com/{app or publisher name}"

without any spaces or weird characters in the name.

So, for example on my app "'BANG! Sound effects' I have C2 action that calls a browser action to http://appstore.com/bangsoundeffects

It works for iphones and ipads.

@Pantaloons

For Android enter your URL in this format:

"market://details?id=your.package.name&write_review=true"

It will launch the actual Google Play app rather than a web browser as in the format : "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=....."

It looks much more professional.

More links can be found here: http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/linking.html
