Renaming Construct 2

Discussion and feedback on Construct 2

Post » Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:10 pm

Make fun if you like (you may not have better things to do), but I thought this topic would be best looked at while C2 is in its infancy. *shrug*

I realize that you can add quotes "Construct 2" to a search, but removing the space just makes it easier for example. Since this site is now sharing space with Construct fining plug-ins would be much easier to search:
Construct2 Plugin.

The web may be smart but even this site has problems searching either Construct 2, and "Construct 2"

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: construct 2."

Once Scirra has a bigger footprint on the web this will become much less of an issue.

[quote="Gullanian":1af4f5iw]How about:

"Construct.... Two!"

or

"Construct pew, pew-pew!"[/quote:1af4f5iw]

"Construct 2, less boo-hoo, more pew-pew"

personally i don't understand why it can't be simply called "Construct" as technically there isn't a construct 1. unless you are planing on renaming construct 0.99.96/7 to 1

Well for me the "2" implies that it's something "better", newer, a reboot, the successor of old Construct. If it was called Construct 1 , the name wouldn't reflect the program total revamp :D

We need some way of differentiating from Construct 0.x and Construct 2 - I think just "Construct" would get confusing as hell at this point :P

Construct 0.x = Construct Zero?
Construct 2 = Construct Duo?

Let's call it "Botox Viagra." Those seem to be really popular search terms on Google. It's like free advertising.

Scirra Construct
Scirra Construct 2

What difference does Scirra as keyword make? Consistent #1 rank on Google. Market Construct 2 as Scirra Construct 2 to avoid ambiguity.
